Handmade Blue Green Ceramic Bowl with Woven Reed Rim | Art Pottery

This is what happens when clay and basketry start talking to each other.

I hand-build each bowl in my studio, then fire it to bring out the glaze’s deep, starry blues and mossy greens. Where the glaze ends, weaving begins: I finish the rim with green reed, secured with embroidery through holes pierced before the first firing.

The result bridges two traditions: pottery and basketry. A glossy midnight-blue interior draws the eye like a night sky, while the matte forest-green exterior creates a grounded contrast. Woven reed adds an earthy, tactile edge that invites touch.
