Hi, I’m Lena.
I’m a mixed media artist in the Raleigh–Durham area, working in ceramics, fiber, and acrylic paint. Sometimes all three end up in the same piece.
My work starts outside. Bark, moss, meadows, and morning light show up in the textures and colors I reach for. I want each piece to feel quiet and warm, something that invites you to slow down at home.
Everything here is one of a kind. I hand-build my ceramics from stoneware, knot macramé, and paint in acrylic on gessoboard and canvas. Much of what comes to me is intuitive, and I follow it. I love how fiber softens stoneware and adds another layer of dimension to a piece. Because every piece is made by hand, glazes pool, textures vary, and no two are alike. I also put some of my artwork on notecards.
